Road trip to Pittsburgh
Hey everyone! Oh boy, I know it's been a while. What a slacker I am. I seem to be running out of time lately and blogging just kind of got pushed aside.
Last weekend we hit the road and headed to PA to visit Uncle Chris & Aunt Liz. We all had a fantastic time. On our drive down Friday the girls slept from 4-6pm. Of course that meant they had to party until midnight! Yes, they were also awake on Saturday at 6am.... after I told Chris and Liz that the girls usually sleep until 8 or 9am... oops. Add in some cutting molars and you've got a REAL party. haha.

Uncle Chris was so entertaining with dance parties and playdough while Aunt Liz was busy making cookies and popsicles. They are amazing. It was so much fun to watch the girls reach for them and giggle and smile when they saw them. I love watching them form relationships.
Chris & Liz live in a cute suburb of Pittsburgh called Cranberry. Come on, even the name is cute. On Saturday we visited the National Aviary. The aviary had all kinds of birds from different areas in the world. Most of the birds were free to roam and were exploring and zipping (and pooping haha) just passed your head.
To be honest I was happy this eagle was in his own enclosure as he was eyeing Georgia like she was dinner. Eeek!

The penguin exhibit had these fun tunnels and windows for kids to get different views. Great idea.

While at the aviary Craig made a friend...

Nice looking guy right?

Then he saw the cheez-it in Maddy's hand and Craig switched into protective mode. haha I love this photo.

After the aviary we headed to the Duquesne Incline. The incline is a trolley built into a mountain that takes you up 800 ft to a beautiful view of Pittsburgh.

Well...... the view comes after a 25 mile hike STRAIGHT up. Ok... so maybe not 25 miles but it was a hike.

The view was great and the hike was worth it. We all need a little exercise thrown into a vacation, right?

We had a great time, thanks again Chris & Liz!
