Well a few days later in true Maddy fashion she walk out of the kitchen and says "I pee the potty" and takes off her diaper and gets down to business. It's been "two hand fives" all around ever since.

Two-Hand Five!
In the past couple of weeks when Maddy accomplishes something she asks for a "two hand five" I'm going to go ahead and assume you can all figure out what that is. Well last week Georgia became out first triumph in potty training! Yay! So after a busy day of driving all over and being away from home and accident free I told her as I was strapping the girls into their seats how proud of her I was and I wanted to give her a "two hand five." I then turned to Maddy and said I loved her and offered the same two hand five. She responded to me with... "no Mommy, I pee diaper." As if she did not feel she deserved a two hand five and frankly was not interested in doing the things needed to get one. She wasn't sad or angry or upset, just very logical.

Quite a few people have asked me what method I used to potty train the girls. I'm going to be real honest, I tried and failed at quite a few and then just decided they would get there when they were ready. Maybe this is lazy? To me it is knowing my girls (especially Maddy) and giving them opportunities/resources/tools to grow and learn while still giving them the freedom (as if I have a choice) to approach milestones when they are ready. I don't really have a photo to go along with this post... I'm not one of those moms that took photos of potty training successes for their baby books :)

To Do List...
I love lists. They make me pretend to feel organized and in control. In the fashion of true disclosure... I generally lose the list before I finish the things on the list, and honestly I could probably have completed 2 or 3 things ON the list in the time it took to write the list.
That said... I would like to introduce you all to our summer "to-do" list. On the lefthand side of the blog you will now see our bucket list for this summer. These are the top 50 things, just for fun we would like to accomplish in the next couple of months. Some are big activities, some are small. A few are pricey but most only cost time (and my willingness to sleep in a tent.) Maybe having this visual and very public reminder of fun things we want to do as a family will encourage us to walk away from the sink of dirty dishes, ignore the lawn mower for just one more day and do something fun!
